Fund to honour Miles
Scholarship for Reading real estate course is memorial to late CWM partner.
A scholarship fund has been launched in memory of the late John Miles, managing partner of the CWM Investment team, who died unexpectedly last year at the age of 53.
From September, The John Miles Memorial Scholarship Fund will reward students enrolling on an undergraduate degree in real estate and planning at Henley Business School, University of Reading, who show exceptional academic merit and a commitment to a career in property.
It has been organised by his former CWM business partners Ben Simpson and Jim Remfry, co-founders of independent consultancy Clifton, in conjunction with Reading Real Estate Foundation.
Applications will be made to Reading Real Estate Foundation and judged by senior academics at Henley Business School. The funding will go towards living and accommodation costs for the three-year course and Clifton will offer successful applicants mentoring and internship opportunities.
Simpson said: “We wanted to celebrate John’s life; create a lasting legacy and a fitting tribute to a man who selflessly gave his time to helping others.”
